Each of the programs listed in this brochure, unless otherwise noted, offer financial incentives to participating customers to help offset or reduce the cost of purchasing or installing the recommended measures or equipment.

IDEA has contracted with Efficiency Services Group (ESG) based in Milwaukie, Oregon, to administer these programs. They can be contacted toll-free at 1-888-883-9879 by anyone with a question, or interest in implementing a project.
The Idaho Energy Authority (IDEA) is an association of Idaho electric utilities working together on various issues impacting consumer-owned electric utilities in Idaho and surrounding states.
Thirteen utilities participate together to offer the Bonneville Power Administration’s (BPA) Energy Efficiency Program. Those utilities are: The City of Albion, the City of Burley, the City of Declo, the City of Heyburn, the City of Minnidoka, the City of Rupert, the City of Soda Springs, the City of Weiser, East End Electric, Farmers Electric, Idaho Falls Power, Riverside Electric and United Electric.
Energy audits are conducted by qualified utility personnel, engineering firms or third-party contractors to identify measures that will reduce electric energy consumption such as lighting, HVAC, motors and controls.
This program replaces existing fluorescent light fixtures with more energy-efficient options. Primarily, T-12 lamp fixtures and magnetic ballasts are replaced with T-8 or T-5 lamps and electronic ballasts.
Reduced pricing on compact fluorescent and LED bulbs are made available for customer purchase at participating retailers through the regional Simple Steps, Smart Savings** program. Bulbs may also occasionally be distributed directly to customers or given away at outreach events.
This program provides an option to customers looking to supplement or replace zonal heating systems, using inverter-driven ductless heat pump technology common in the commercial sector. No ducting is required for system installation. The heat pump technology also provides air conditioning more efficiently than through-the-wall air conditioners.
This program is offered in conjunction with participating Performance Tested Comfort System (PTCS) certified technicians, to replace electric furnaces or heat pumps with qualifying high-efficiency heat pumps.
This program is offered in conjunction with retailers to promote and
sell qualifying energy-efficient ENERGY STAR washing machines, refrigerators and freezers.
This program is offered in conjunction with participating builders and State Certified Home Performance Specialists to construct energy-efficient new homes to ENERGY STAR standards.
This program is offered in conjunction with participating manufacturers and state inspection agencies to reward customers who purchase energy-efficient manufactured homes built to ENERGY STAR standards.
This program is offered in conjunction with local participating insulation and window contractors to install measures that reduce electric heating and air conditioning consumption. Available measures include insulation, caulking, weather-stripping, thermostats and windows.
With partial assistance from Showerheadreview.net, reduced pricing on energy-efficient, reduced-flow shower heads are made available for customer purchase at participating retailers through regional Simple Steps, Smart Savings** programs. Shower heads may also occasionally be distributed directly to customers or given away at outreach events.
This is a regional program administered by a BPA third-party contractor and offered through local motor service centers to provide energy-efficient rewinds of motors brought in for repair in the commercial and industrial sectors.
This is a regional program provided by a BPA third-party contractor that provides energy audits for grocery and convenience stores primarily to identify savings with refrigeration equipment. Local contractors can install recommended measures or the program can provide experienced contractors to do the work.
This program is offered in conjunction with local participating irrigation equipment dealers to encourage agricultural irrigators to replace old, depleted or inefficient line equipment with parts and equipment that will reduce electricity and water use.
