Marg Chipman

Marg Chipman is serving in her first term as a member of the City Council. Born and raised in Moscow, she considers herself a Vandal by birth. After graduating from U of I as a third-generation student, she married Gary Chipman and followed him to Weiser in 1971 where they were actively involved in the cattle feeding and ranching business until he passed in 2013. After their son left for college, this empty nester went back to school at TVCC and received her Licensed Practical Nursing certificate in 1993. She worked for several years as a private scrub nurse in Weiser Memorial Hospital and later as a pharmacy tech. She was a member of the Weiser School Board of Trustees for 29 years and served as president of the Idaho School Boards Assn. Her family includes son Rob and his wife Kim, granddaughter Jenny Carter and husband Luke, grandson Rick Cornett, his fiancé Alexia, and sons Matthew and Lennon. Marg is retired but manages to keep busy with PEO, Shamrock Club, National Vandal Scholarship Fund Board, West Treasure Valley Vandal Booster Board, and serving on the Idaho Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
