Sterling Blackwell is currently a teacher at Fruitland High School and adjunct faculty member at Treasure Valley Community College. As an educator for 13 years and performer for most of his life, Sterling’s closest friends know that he loves to dream big, and serve fully.
A resident of Wesier for the last 8 years, Sterling has fallen in love with this little town he calls “Home.” He is the owner and operator of Re.Theater and Sterling Shaved Ice, two side companies to keep him busy when he is not in the classroom teaching. He loves supporting the arts and often finds himself involved in a theatrical production somewhere. He’s been a board member for several organizations and a source of knowledge to those seeking guidance in theater and technical support. He is quick to offer help and is often used as just plain physical labor when something needs to get done. There are very few limits to the kinds of service Sterling is willing to offer someone in need. He is excited for the additional opportunities to serve that will come as a member of the city council.
In short, Sterling loves to serve others, help his community, support the arts, and enjoy good friendships with people he meets and works with. If you have questions, concerns, or would just like to grab a cup of coffee and get to know him better, please feel free to email Sterling at sterling.blackwell@cityofweiser.net
