City and School District elections are coming up in one month. Two candidate forums are being held to held voters learn more about the candidates. The first is sponsored by the Signal American and is being held Wednesday, October 9 at 6 pm at the Senior/Community Center. The second is sponsored by the Weiser Area Chamber of Commerce. It will be Thursday, October 17 at 6 pm in the Vendome Events Center. Please take time to attend these forums to learn more about your choices. Election Day will be Tuesday, November 5. Polls will be open from 8 am -8 pm and you will vote in your regular precincts. For questions about where you vote contact the Washington County Clerk’s office and make sure you are registered.
Idaho Custom Designs has gotten moved into their new location so take time to stop in 25 W. Main and check out their duds and talk to them about what they can do for you and your business. While you are down town don’t miss the many other businesses. Pepper’s has a new bakery providing goodies to go with your coffee and tea. “Buns A Glazin” has some very tempting scones and rolls available at Pepper’s.
It’s beginning to be another busy fall in Weiser. The Annual Weiser Chamber of Commerce 2019 Community Awards Banquet will be Monday, October 21st in the Vendome. Come out and support members of the community being honored for their contributions to our area.
The Weiser Senior/Community Center is having a fundraising dinner on Saturday, October 26. Financial support for the center is always needed. If possible, drop in for dinner on the 26th or any day of the week for lunch. If not how about dropping off a donation to help keep our Senior Center running smoothly. They depend on our donations to provide meals and a place for people to come together throughout the year.
The Weiser Little Theater is beginning their production of “Harvey” on Halloween and on into November. These are always fun and you can get more information on their website, the Weiser Chamber office or in local media.
The Arrow Hear Adventure Camps is having their 4th Annual Night of Mystery on Saturday, November 2nd. Doors open at 6 pm and the dinner begins at 7 pm. If you are a mystery buff, these are fun evenings. You get to take an active part in solving the mystery which happens before your eyes. This year’s mystery is “Murder of a Millionaire. For more information contact 208-549-2897 for tickets or to donate auction items. This organization is a great program to develop leadership skills in kids.
The Elk’s Club is planning activities again this year to honor our Veterans. Watch the local median for information about the Veteran’s Day lunch which is free for veterans. The Elk’s are also planning a Flag Retirement Ceremony. Many people having been looking for the proper way to dispose of old tattered flags. Here is your opportunity.
