WEISER PARKS SYSTEM

City of Weiser has about twenty-one (21) acres of developed parks, not including a thirteen (13) acre soccer/ athletic field complex located on East Park Street.

The parks system includes City Park, Memorial Park, Lions Park, Veterans Park, Times Square Park, Weiser fishing pond, Heritage Park, and the historic train depot.

There is another nine (9) acres that has been set aside for a future park/athletic field complex.

Memorial park is home to the City’s swim pool, community football field, community baseball field, and tennis courts.

Local volunteers and city staff constructed modern new playground equipment at three of the city’s parks during the summer of 2005.

Memorial Park and City Park can be reserved for family get togethers, reunions, and other events, by contacting Weiser Recreation Department at 208-414-0301.

The National Old-time Fiddle Contest and Festival manages vendors and activities at City Park and Memorial Park is operated by the Xi-Nu sorority and the local Elks lodge during the third full week in June each year. 2012 will mark the 60th anniversary of this event, “The National Finals of Fiddling”.

The community constructed a public fishing pond in 2009 near the Weiser River. It provides numerous recreation opportunities such as wildlife viewing, walking, picnic area, and of course fishing. It is stocked by Idaho Fish and Game on a regular basis.
