Weiser Schools will be out this week so watch for increased bike and foot traffic all over town. The pool, Community Pond and parks will get busier. Drive carefully and keep our kids safe.
The first meeting for the National Old Time Fiddle week was held on Monday. Plans this year will have the festival activities all moved to Memorial Park. This will include the vendors and the carnival as well as music in the park. Watch the local media for additional information about the planned activities and their locations.
Alley cleanup will begin on Tuesday, May 29th. The crew will begin on the westside of town and will work eastward. They will also be coming back to grade alley along with the cleanup. Crews will not be picking up sofas, mattresses and garbage. This cleanup is for garden and yard debris. Alleys that are blocked by vehicles and garbage will have to be done after the items are removed.
The Street crew is also busy with painting on the streets and cleaning and replacement of thermo overlays before Fiddle Contest. They are also finishing work on ADA ramps on the westside of town.
As of Monday morning, we are still waiting to see final site revisions from Ridley’s. We are hoping to issue a site and foundation permit before the end of this week so they can begin breaking ground.
Schools will be out this Wednesday so, please, drive carefully around our parks, pool and watch for bikers and pedestrians.
City offices will be closed on Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day and will reopen on Tuesday at 8 am. Memorial Day was established to remember military service members who have died in the line of duty. Thank you to the Elks Club and other volunteers for the time spent to place flags on the graves of our service people this week. Enjoy the weekend remembering service members, family and friends. Enjoy the time with family and friends and drive carefully.
